Book Reception: New Author from Sorø Debuts with Kvastirs Ravne

Peter Mensink debuts with Kvastirs Ravne: Friday 30 October 2026, 15:00–17:00, Sorø Bibliotek, Sorø. Admission is free.

Meet author Peter Mensink at this book reception, where he presents his debut novel Kvastirs ravn - the first book in the Lustriens pagt series.

The novel unfolds in a fantasy universe where ancient gods are threatened by an invasion that would enslave people, and where ravens and dreams are the only messengers of hope. Peter Mensink has a background as a music school director and a career in artistic and educational leadership, and that experience shines through: human relationships, communities, and the mechanisms of power are central themes in the story.

As he puts it: "Music and leadership are fundamentally about the same thing as a good story: harmony, dissonance, and the complex patterns in human relationships. In Lustrien I have created a universe where I can explore what happens to us when we are pushed to the limit, and the familiar frameworks of society collapse."

At the reception, the author reads from the novel, there are musical performances, and Peter Mensink talks about his journey from music to literature. The book can be purchased and signed on site.
