Jesper Zeuthen (b. 1949) is a Danish alto saxophonist who first came to prominence in the late 1960s with the jazz-rock group Blue Sun and has since become a defining voice in Danish free jazz and avant-garde music. He spent close to two decades in Pierre Dørge's New Jungle Orchestra and has performed alongside Terry Riley, Don Cherry, Paul Motian and Marilyn Mazur. Despite debuting as a bandleader only after turning 60, he has released a steady stream of albums with collaborators including Jacob Anderskov, Jakob Bro and Margaux Oswald.
Sound Flower (Loveland Music) with Jesper Zeuthen, Anders Christensen and Marilyn Mazur was nominated for Album of the Year at DMA Jazz 2025, and Zeuthen was also nominated as Musician of the Year.
Jesper Zeuthen performed at Radar in Aarhus in a new intergenerational collaboration with Jakob Bro and Norwegian drummer Veslemøy Narvesen, with poet Peter Laugesen as special guest.
