Climate Rethought - Advertising Power · Sorø Bibliotek, Sorø
Description was written before the event

Esther Kjeldahl and Ariel Storm present their book 'Advertising Power' (Reklamemagt), exploring how advertising shapes society and the planet's future. What strategies does the industry use to secure our loyalty to harmful companies - and how can we reclaim power from a sector that employs every trick to make us buy things we wouldn't otherwise want?

The lecture also addresses whether greenhushing poses a greater problem than greenwashing. Drawing on interviews with current and former advertising professionals, the speakers reveal the industry's tactics and equip the audience to see through misleading marketing and think critically about advertising.

This event is part of the "Climate Rethought" series, which combines expert knowledge, literature, and artistic perspectives with active participation and concrete action. The series is arranged in collaboration with Sorø Municipality's Climate Team.
